My just turned 3 year old is horribly destructive. Whether she's drawing all over the house. Smearing things she shouldn't be and pouring stuff everywhere. She seems to think it's a great idea to put entire rolls of toilet roll down the toilet at a time . Throw the full thing in. I know it sounds funny but honestly I despair sometimes she managed to do it 3 or 4 times a day. The amount km going through is crazy . I've tried time out. Regarding good behaviour. Ignoring it. She is toilet training to locking the bathroom door and the toilet roll isn't an option . Tell me not alone

That sounds really hard. I don't have the same problem (though we have plenty of problems of our own!) so I am not sure if this would work for you, but could you keep just a few wads of toilet paper in a container where she can access them and lock away the entire roll? I keep a potty chair in my daughter's room for naps and night time because she doesn't have access to the toilet and this is how I leave the toilet paper out for her. I leave enough paper for like 3 pees so she has plenty if she needs it but not enough to cause any trouble with.

This was my son! He's a bit more settled but still destructive. As far as chucking roll down the toilet thing, he wasn't punished as such, just told firmly not to do it. I took him with me to fish it out one time and told him off very firmly and he didn't do it again. I wish I had more advice but it's starting to feel like a distant memory so I'm not sure what else I did! I do understand the frustration, though, and the cost of it!

your defiantly not alone
children drive me mad sometimes :hugs:

My daughter went through a phase of this when she was 3 with everything. Three is a very difficult age :hugs:

Thank you ladies it's a comfort to know it's not just my little one

My 3 year old is a nightmare also he just does not listen to me AT ALL I have tried everything - time out, rewards, sticker charts but OMG

He was a terrible 2 and I had hoped we would be lucky enough to miss out on the 3 but nope :(

Don't get me wrong when he is good he is lovely but he drives me crazy at times

:hugs:

I used a child proof toilet paper holder thing around that age when my kids did stuff like that; it helped quite a bit. I also think the suggestion pp made of only leaving enough paper out for a few trips to the bathroom is good, at least until you feel lo is trustworthy enough in there to no destroy the bathroom.

I am so glad to read WE aren't the only ones! My youngest daughter will turn 3 in a couple of weeks. She is the sweetest, cutest little thing(usually!) but man - she has gotten SO naughty lately!
Last week we had to buy an entire new toilet because she ruined ours so badly! After doing the toilet paper thing (repeatedly), once she couldn't get that, it was toys, soap, anything in her reach... and she's quick! She'd flush something and run out in the blink of an eye! I guess it all built up because you wouldn't believe the stuff the plumber pulled out!
Also, coloring on walls (or herself, the baby, everything except paper!), locking doors, running out of the house, hiding, yelling NO at me and generally back talking, using bad words...wow! Sounds worse writing it all out, but she does it all while laughing and she knows what she's doing is naughty! You should see it - when she's telling me "no" she wiggles her head and makes this face...sometimes she even says HA...my goodness! I hope this stage passes quickly.
