I had a growth scan today and the consultant said baby was measuring 95th percentile. What does this mean?

It means your baby is bigger than 95% of babies at the same gestation. Another way of looking at it is that 95% of fetuses the same gestation are smaller and only 5% are bigger than your baby.

Don't let this scare you - both of my boys measured in the very high percentiles, and they both came out average in size. Their measurements can be WAY off.

Does anyone know the average weight of a 31 week old fetus measuring 95th percentile?

Does it not say on your scan report? The estimated weight I mean..

I was told my baby weighed about 7.1 lbs at my 36 week check up. I believe they estimated this based on bone measurements. I was told my baby was in the 70th or 75th percentile. Not sure if that helps..
