It means your baby is bigger than 95% of babies at the same gestation. Another way of looking at it is that 95% of fetuses the same gestation are smaller and only 5% are bigger than your baby.
Don't let this scare you - both of my boys measured in the very high percentiles, and they both came out average in size. Their measurements can be WAY off.
I was told my baby weighed about 7.1 lbs at my 36 week check up. I believe they estimated this based on bone measurements. I was told my baby was in the 70th or 75th percentile. Not sure if that helps..
