There was another thread on this but it was for uk brands. Just wondering what kind we use here?

I use the Nestle because they sent me a TON of free samples when I was pregnant.
Has anyone tried the Kirkland brand? Is it cheaper?

Me too peanut! They sent enough that I'd be stupid not to use it. Good marketing!

31 views and only 3 votes. Are we norh Americans really that outnumbered? Lol.

LOL Sorry I forgot to click 'other' :) But yes, we are outnumbered :P

We use Enfamil Premium right now, but I think we need to switch to the one for gas, cause she farts a lot, lol.

enfamil premium here! first 2 weeks we used enfamil newborn but the pediatrician said it was more of a gimmick than anything!

Does anyone know anything about the generic brands? (Parents Choice, Kirkland)...they are SOOO much cheaper! But I'm a bit scared to switch because I don't know anyone who uses them...but Kirkland stuff is usually pretty good...I was looking in the Wal Mart flyer today, and you can get 2 730g cans of Parents Choice formula for $25. I pay that (or a few dollars more) for one can of the Nestle Good Start!

I BF mostly, but when I have to supplement I give Enfamil Lipil :flower:

I use Target brand. Not sure that's available in Canada though.

We used similac, but only because he had to be on ready to feed alimentum! Also, we had wic, and they only covered similac in my area.

The store brands (like walmart, costco, superstore etc...) are perfectly fine :) They all have to follow certain guidelines when producing it to have the proper amount of nutrients. Ummm... I think it's the parents choice one that is a lot like Goodstart, and Presidents Choice from superstore has awesome brands! Way cheaper than the bigger names! I know a few moms who use the walmart brand and love it.

With Jacob I used Isomil, and Kayleigh when I give her some here and there I buy Enfamil A+

I know that the store brands are actually the same as the name brands. The companies buy the rights and put their own label on it. But we will never know what brand is what. They never disclose that or everyone would switch of course!

I plan to use Walmart's brand Parents Choice! It is way cheaper and has the same stuff as the others. I see commercials on tv all the time on Parents Choice saying they couldn't put formula on the market if it didnt have all the nutrients and stuff a baby needed, just the same as the other brands! I was comparing brands in walmart the other day, and Parents Choice's powder can is even bigger and cheaper! way more for your $$

^^ Thanks..I've been thinking about switching to one of the generic brands, but I just don't know anyone who's used them, so I was scared! I know they have to be good though, so I don't know why I was scared... :haha:

When my daughter was born we started her on Enfamil but it made her quite unsettled and sick so We swithced to parents choice(Wlamart) and she loves it. She is rarely gassy, and is very content. Only cries when she is hungry and i have let her get to the crying point. I talked to my Dr about it and he said all formula in the states and Canada have to be very regulated and up to a certain standard. He also said he has many moms who use parents choice and that there is nothing wrong with it. I compaired the ingredients myself and its almost no different than the other brands i did find that it has a few more calories but my daughter is not gainning weight to fast she is growing normally so i dont think that matters to much. personally i love parents choice. Its so much cheaper and she likes it better than the expensive kinds.
