What hospitals are we all going to??

I think it will be pembury in Maidstone for me, I have just moved to Kent from Essex and apparently we can go to Maidstone, medway or pembury! Maybe I ought to do a tour of them! X

Ermm you can't go to maidstone hun. Unless your admitted to l&d for an emergancy or complication they no longer have births there. I'm going to pembury and where I currently live its a 50 minute drive. I'm due in jan and it better not snow!!

There is a brand new low risk birthing unit in Maidstone. It's meant to be really nice. My MW was trying to talk me into going as Pembury is over-run at the moment but as I live 5 minutes from Pembury I told her to try talking more Maidstone based women to go to Maidstone!

I was wondering if ANYONE had ever been there as no one I know seemed to know about it. Good to be reassured! :flower:

I'm a 10 minute drive from there :)

My children's school gate is opposite the maternity unit and I live about a 15 minute walk away

Liverpool women's for me (where baby hospital was filmed) I live in Warrington but will not give birth At Warrington again! The birth was horrible, I wasn't looked after and my daughter spend 10 days in renal failure due to then mis reading her blood results. She was in scbu and I was told that she could go home when I could master breast feeding, I was made to feel a failure when in fact she was too ill to latch on and feed herself!

That said I do know lots of people who've had positive experiences there, I just couldn't add that kind of worry to giving birth

Xx

The victoria hospital in kirkcaldy, its new maternity section opens beginning of january so I'll be in there come march.

I asked my midwife where she thought I would be and she said Forth Park cause the Vic wouldn't be finished in time. That was back in June mind so I might well be there in Feb

i'll be going to wigan hospital x

Me too. Had our daughter there in 2009 and they were wonderful! Just wish they did a 'birthing centre' with private rooms. But, a healthy baby is what matters. Have you been before?

also going to wigan hospital..............................nice to hear someone saying they were wonderful

University hospital lewisham in London for me, hopefully I'll stay low risk and get to go to the birth centre which I've heard good things about. I've just moved though and technically my nearest hospital is Mayday but I refuse to go there.

dont blaime you, i have to go there and not looking forward to it. just hope wont be there for too long.

xx
