What if waters break in bed?? Will mattress be ruined?

i'm not incontinent on a regular basis by the way. i just mean that's what they're used for normally

Lol, I love the things pregnancy reduces us to and the products you discover that you never knew even existed!

Just yesterday I safety pinned a bin bag & 2 towels to the mattress on my side of the bed lmho, my waters were broke in hospital last time & just trickled for hours but I love my bed at home so don't want to risk it! :-D

I will also be putting baby bed mats under my sheet in case of any water breakage while in bed!
Think I should be doing this soon though?
:flower:

boots sell mattress protector things by the maternity pads, really cheap. I also sat on one in car too on way to hosp as it was gushing out for aaaaaages.

i never even thought about this...my waters have never broken but we have just got a lovely new kingsize bed and it would be just my luck that it would happen by itself this time xx

I've just bought a cheap waterproof matress protector. It was £8 from my local department store. I was reluctant to use one as thought it would be all rustley and uncomfortable and keep me awake at night but actually, if you weren't told it was waterproof, you wouldn't know! I also use incontinence pads over the top (again not because I'm incontinent). You can buy them extremely cheaply online. Incidentally theyre also really good for house training dogs :) xx

i've followed my MW advice and got a shower curtain and put it under my sheets.........

on top i have fleecy blanket..............

rather hot at night but not way can i jump out of bed if my waters go.. my SPD would just not allow it

i like the idea of using the disposable changing mats as i tried the matress protector with my dd and didn't like the feel of it.

my waterd broke all over my bed last time so this time ive brought a waterproof sheet just incase from ebay really cheap. it didnt ruin the mattress but it took ages to dry out and had nothing to sleep on.

oh gosh, just realiseed that i have an electric blanket under my fitted sheets to keep me warm....what if my waters break on the lectric blanket :-O
