2nd pregnancy, first child - I haven't tried getting pregnant since 2011 after my loss.

Some of the signs I've been noticing:

1. I have a cyst on my pubic bone - to be honest, I'm not sure if it's a cyst or a pimple, but it's extremely painful and it makes me very nervous being THAT close to the baby. I feel it both inside and out. Should I be worried about this?

2. I know mild cramps are to be expected around the time of implantation, but occasionally, I feel a sharp cramp in my left or right side where I would normally have menstrual cramps. Should I be worried about this?

3. I'm just about to end my 13th week and start in my 14th....For 2 days, I've been exhausted, groggy, taking naps, and unable to sleep all night long. I woke up this morning STARVING, but every time I tried to eat, I would almost get sick WHILE I was eating. Is this normal? When does it end? I'm hypoglycemic as it is and I need to eat every 3-4 hours. Is there a way I can make this go away? I drink water and eat healthy for the most part, so I can't imagine it being for any other reason due to my diet. If I eat healthy, I shouldn't feel sick, right? So, is this something I should be worried about?

None of these happened during my last pregnancy. In fact, in my last pregnancy, my sleep cycle regulated from 9pm to 6am (perfect for someone with insomnia) and I wasn't under or overweight. I was rarely sick even when I had morning sickness. This time? It's the complete opposite and I'm not sure if the cyst has anything to do with it. I know it's known that women might have morning sickness all throughout their pregnancy, but mine had stopped for about 3-4 weeks and then just out of nowhere this morning, it flared back up immediately while I was eating. Could this be a stomach bug? Could the cyst have anything to do with how poorly I'm feeling? I'm out of it with a slight fever and constantly tired....I also had a severe constant headache for 3 days recently and I thought it was because I hadn't slept much. Now, I can't seem to stop sleeping at all. Granted the head is gone (thankfully) but now I'm coming across all these other problems. Can anyone be of any help? Please? Thank you so much in advance :winkwink:

Hello!

The cyst can be normal in a pregnancy. Have you tried popping it? If so you need to clean it very well and make sure to get everything out of it.

For your 'mild cramps' I don't think you should be worried. Make sure you stay calm and positive during pregnancy! If you are still worried talk to your ob/gyn.

If you are constantly feeling vomit coming during eating try eating salt crackers. They help the vomiting. I recommend it. Vomiting is either not in your pregnancy or is.

Stay positive! :) I hope I helped.

Cramps can happen with a lack of magnesium or a subchorionic hematoma. I had a hematoma and took 800 g of Magnesium until it resolved. No cramps since.

I have a history of Hypoglycemia. I was able to resolve it by eating lower in carbs and just sticking to Paleo. Once ny body normalized a moderate amount of carby and starchy foods wasn't a problem at all. It is hard transitioning though so in pregnancy I'd suggest cutting down on the extremely high sugar foods. Replace sugar with honey, fruits instead of sweets. Banana and resistant starch is a good way to keep blood sugar stable. I'd personally cut down on starches from grains and instead eat potato which is metabolized better. Moderate amounts of rice should be fine too but it would be best to make sure your diet is only up to about 1/3 starch, but also lots of veggies, proteins and healthy fats (saturated for example, I like butter but avocado is a good source of fat too)
Combine Carbs, Protein and Fats for every meal to keep blood sugar stable. Don't simply carb it up or eat only a bit of meat.
At the beginning of the second trimester your body's blood sugar goes through and adjustment period so keeping it stable should eventually get easier to.
I was able to keep away all sorts of blood sugar problems and nausea this way.

Thank you!!! I was so lost in terms of diet, because my o/b is very difficult to schedule an appointment with....I haven't seen her for over a month and she STILL can't see me for another two weeks, so I never have the chance to ask her these things unless I'm already there in her office. I've been writing down my concerns to take with me. The cyst I have on my pubic bone is definitely something that caught my attention and immediately went on the list. I just hope I can wait two weeks to see my doctor. I was going to pop it myself, but since it's below my already growing stomach, it's difficult to see and I don't want to risk not getting out all of the stuff inside of it...It's something I'd rather have my doctor do.

I'm feeling extremely nauseated yet again, but still haven't thrown up. I find that eating cold things really helps, like cereal. Thanks again for your advice! I will do my best to put together the types of meals you recommended

It all sounds completely normal! Just remember every premises different so just because you had something one way in one pregnancy, that doesn't mean it'll be the same in the next!

I had a cyst-type thing exactly like what you describe in my last pregnancy and worried myself sick about it-eventually showed it to my doctor and he was not the least bit phased-said it was down to all my crazy pregnancy hormone levels and was no different to some people having a boil/breakout on their face/back etc and that it was no threat at all to baby.

Stop. Take a deep breath and breath!

You sound like a perfectly normal, healthy pregnant lady.

It's normal for sickness to come and go randomly, it's normal to get aches and pains, it's normal to be starving hungry one second and nauseous the next.

Speak to your midwife or Dr about ways to manage your sickness if it's affecting your hypoglycaemia.

You can eat perfectly clean and healthy and still be sick. Also normal.

All pregnancies are different. Try not to panic and try to enjoy being pregnant!
