I wouldn't try holding her, I think it will just start a bad habit...I would have her sit in her bumbo or highchair everytime even when you are both home so she realizes that's where she sits when she has solids. Otherwise as she gets older you will have to correct it or you will be sitting trying to eat dinner and her eat in your lap lol. But if she gets upset I wouldn't push it I would just stop for the day and at her normal next feed do her milk and try again the next day. She will let you know when she's ready.
