I had a csection almost two weeks ago for my twins. The doctors told me the adhesive strips would come off in the shower. Well this morning one side of my incision started looking infected and hurt. I pulled out the paperwork from the hospital which stated those adhesive strips should have been pulled off at seven days. No one told me that. Well I peeled the strips off then took a shower. The area is still red, swollen and slightly painful. I have a two week checkup with my doctor tomorrow morning. It's Sunday, so there's no doctors offices open to get checked out. Should I wait it out til the appointment tomorrow or risk going into the ER? Keep in mind that last time I went into my local er they told me I did not have a particular condition, when in fact that's exactly what I had. That's why I really don't want to go there again.

Ouch! Congrats on your new babies. I'm sorry, I don't know anything about C-sections, do you guys have a nurses' line to call 24/7??

My doctors office is a joke or something, I swear. When I had my son, they had an answering service that would connect you to a doctor. With the twins I went to a high risk specialist. You think they would have an answering service like that or better since they deal in high risk. But they don't. All the answering machine says, is if your having issues go to an er somewhere.

Geez, especially high risk!?? ... have you thought of maybe calling your old doctor even though it isn't your current pregnancy?? Maybe they would be willing to chat.
