A friend told me that I needed to take these supplements since I am breastfeeding:

Multi vitamin
Omega 3 (fish oil)
Calcium
Vitamin D
Folic Acid
Iron

Now, I am taking Pregnacare Plus which has the multi vitamin and omega 3 since I am breastfeeding my 10 months old (not as frequent as I would like to, but he would still feed for short sessions when I offer it to him, so I am thankful).

I am also taking folic acid.

As for my daily diet, I don't intake enough vegetables and fruits as I am supposed to. Some days, I take non from these.

Do I really need the above additional supplements? And If I do, I am assuming I shouldn't take them all at once in one day; I mean I should take them during different timings, right ? (not all together at once). Can I combine taking the multi vitamin with folic acid? Can I combine taking the calcium with the vitamin D? I don't know where/when to put the iron and omega 3 in the day?

What are you taking?

I am just taking my prenatal vitamin that my doctor prescribed. I know you need lots of vitamins but not sure which ones.

I am taking the same supplements as you except the folic acid.

I take everything once in the morning. I may add more fish oil later in the day but not usually. I don't think there is any need to take them at specific times of the day. I have been taking supplements for many years and I always just took them once a day unless the supplement specified that it had to be taken either after or before food..etc.

I take a raw food supplement called Raw One for Women which is fantastic as its natural and not man made so your body absorbs the nutrients well. They are not cheap though. I found the cheapest on amazon. Also I've been taking Vegepa which is a natural form of omega 3 and 6. This was advised to help stop hair loss after pregnancy but having taken it for a few months now I'm seeing such a difference in my skin and hair and generally how I feel.

I just kept taking my pre-natal vitamins, Rainbow Light Prenatal One, which I get from Amazon. Because I am a vegan I take extra calcium, and my omega oils come from flaxseed.
I think that you're not meant to take calcium and iron together, so I take my multi-vit in the morning (I add the flaxseed to my breakfast cereal), and my calcium at tea-time.
I like to take them, both so I keep vaguely healthy, and so that the good stuff can be passed on to LO when he nurses (which he still does in the morning and at bedtime!).

I take my prenatal and I also drink mothers milk tea which helps with production :)

You should take the multivitamin or prenatal vitamin with folic acid (vitamin B9) , Iron and Omega 3. These vitamin wouldn't interfere with the multivitamin because the multivitamin has it. Calcium and vitamin D should take apart because some minerals that have the multivitamin interfere with calcium or viceversa. You need vitamin D with calcium because vitamin D help to absorb calcium. Make sure that you are taking calcium citrate or calcium lactate because these are the best that our body absorbs. Calcium carbonate is not good at all for our body and take much time for our body to absorb it. I use prenatal vitamin in liquid because my body absorbs these vitamin much better in liquid but that it's optional.
