Just sitting thinking about impending arrival of winter and wonder what are we going to be better off getting Should we buy loads of snow suits or should we still get a foot muff with snow suits I am terried of her over heating as she is a very warm baby now and just sitting in the car seat can have her sweating what would you lovely ladies recomend.

depends on the weather/what im doing. Im gunna have both, if its really cold eg. Snow use both. More windy than cold then the footmuff. Just cold then a snowsuit. Thats my plans anyway! X

Hi hun,

I bought one of these car seat/pushchair wraps and it was one of the best things I bought. I can't rate this enough. I got stage 2 size to last and it goes perfectly in car seat and my Quinney.

I also bought a traditional snow suit and just a thick cotton padded suit with hood but because of the wrap unless I was taking her out the seat into the cold/or it was really cold, I mainly used the lighter cotton one esp with the wrap. The days it wasnt freezing the wrap on its own without a coat/suit kept her like toast and just unwrapped without disturbing her if we got home/went into a shop where it was warm.

Anna was born in January and it was snowing. I put her in a snowsuit. We were never outside for walks in the snow so there was no need for a footmuff as well then.

This winter I have a footmuff that I will use. I think both might be too warm - again I dont plan on being out walking if its snowing - maybe if you were then you would need both? I plan to wrap her up well in a coat/jacket and use the footmuff too:flower:

I have both, I use the footmuff a lot instead of a blanket as he likes to kick them off now but its been cold here this last few days so he's been in the snowsuit without any blankets or anything. I was worried about it to begin with as he is always soaked with sweat in the carseat as well but I got a cotton lined snowsuit and I think it's actually helped! I think it might be the nylon of the carseat thats causing him to sweat while he's in it :)

I'll second the recommendation for the Morrck baby hoodie. My LO was born in October and it was an absolute godsend through the horrible winter we had. She's a small baby, so was in her carseat or carrycot throughout the winter months, and the Morrck kept her soooo cozy in her carseat :) I now use it in the pushchair, so more than getting my money's worth :D

And I'm lucky that my wonderful Mum managed to make me a lightweight version, which I used through the summer too :)

I say get both so you can judge it on a daily basis

I just bought Matthew a bigger snowsuit (the bear one in tesco's is so cute!!) And only £9.60 with 20% off all clothing atm!) and we've been using it already because it's so cold and Matthew's a very sweaty warm baby! He was born in December and I didn't get any use out of his snowsuits because he overheated in them  I had him in his car seat with quite a few layers on him (like long sleeved vest, sleepsuit and a cardigan or coat a big warm blankets and hat and mitt's and he was even cooking in that! But now he's older he's cooled down a bit

I use the footmuff with a blanket tucked up round him and in the footmuff so it doesn't escape and the raincover (cold and wet) or if it's dry but freezing cold I use the snowsuit!

Thankyou everyone for the replys the baby hoodie looks fantastic. I am thinking that will be great as she will be in the car most of the time in the cold.

I currently have this

I think it is fantastic. If it gets hot in the car, or we go into a warm shop, I can just flick it open, then wrap him back up when we get outside (rather than fiddling with coats!)
Unfortunatly, he won't fit in it much longer :(
We are going to get the Baby Hoodie that someone has already linked, and that should last him til he is about 18 months!

He always looks so cosy in his wrap.
