what to get for LO for christmas?

i'm due november 20th so even if LO arrives at full term he/she will only be 8 weeks old at christmas and i really have no idea what to get ... i know that he/she probably won't be aware of what is going on but i still want to get something.

obviously there is going to be a load of girls/boys outfits that i can buy for LO but i wanted to get him/her something other than clothes too

any suggestions?

hey hun my little man is due on 11th november so we will be about the same come christmas im getting him a baby gym so he will have plenty to look at etc and a playmat im also going to get a few rattles and things so as he gets a bit bigger after xmas he can have them then x x

we got Tegan a my first xmas teddy 2009 last yr from mamas and papas (she was born 10days before xmas)
plus got a my first xmas bauble from there too.

We had spent a fortune on kitting out a nursery etc so decided just to get those tokens for her, we are spoiling her this yr tho!!!

you could get a my first xmas stocking and put a few little bits in it that LO will use as they get older like a sippy cup, rattles,christmas teddy, cloth books and you get xmas bibs
morgan was 5 months and we got her a few things for when she was bigger like 6month + toys and a little mobile phone toy that she still loves now x

thanks girls FOB's family have bought a load of stuff already like a walker (hello LO is going to be at most 8 weeks old! and i have no space to store it!!!!) play gym, a bouncer (i've already got one !!!!!!!!) a swing (i've got no space of it what-so-ever) going to buy a load of clothes etc and have already bought the my first christmas stuff so im stuffed, they didnt even ask me to see if i wanted any of that stuff for LO or whether i had any of it already or not. i'm really upset that i couldn't get to pick stuff like the play gym and the my first christmas bits because FOB doesn't want to be that involved in baby's life and knowing him he'll have bought stuff thats way to old for them just like walker!

i dont think its a bad thing to get stuff thats for older babys. You'll have 10 months inbetween xmas and birthday so I get stuff for the entire year at christmas and birthday (jan4).

my eldest was 6weeks old his 1st xmas - we got him rattles, bibs, bottles, dummys, soft play ball, bouncy chair, play mat/gym and my parents got him a swing.
