anything bright coloured to stimulate them, different textures, musical toys that will aid hand to eye co ordination etc

anything really helps learning so what ever you can afford, *they are bloody expensive*

Anythin noisy!! I mean like that crinkle material , and if all else fails give them a empty pack of wipes, my daughter sits for ages just playin with anything like that. x x

Also fabric books that crinkle and have different textures , Ella loves hers!

Best buy would be Baby Mozart DVD by Baby Einstein https://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/120978/Baby-Einstein-Baby-Mozart-Music-Festival/Product.html

I brought it for my niece when I think she was 4 or 5 months and she absolutely loves it even now (she is 1)when the music comes on and all the colours and images on the telly she gets all excited! My sil says it is the best present ever as it keeps LO entertained and gives her 20 mins to sit down and rest.

It is a must buy and anyone that keeps it secret from other mums is evil!!

rattles, anything that is bright or makes noise. Coltons favorite toys are his stuffed animals that have rattles in them.. like he has a little monkey rattle, and he has what we call his 'ribbit' which is a little stuffed rattle frog that has two teethers as feet.. he plays with it the most.
I dont know if they do this at stores there, but here they put what age the toy is recommended for.. like it will say "birth+" or "3 months+" or "6 months+" etc.. Just buy around your LOs age group.. I'm buying Colton some 6m+ this weekend because he is starting to get tired of the same 'ol toys.. lol.. I found an old toy the other day that my mom had purchased when I was still preggo but said 6m+ so I had put it away (oh how long 6m seemed then! ha!) I got it out the other day and Colton went crazy jumping and stuff.. the toy aint even that exciting! :dohh: So, I would suggest not to go crazy buying too much stuff.. they might get bored with it after some time..

Bren was absolutly mesmerized by a blue box of crackers the other day at a friends house. He was pulling himself forward in myDH's lap trying to get closer to them. Silly boy!

I would suggest a play mat with little toys hanging from arches! Hours of entertainment!

Bella loves her jumper and she loves her Baby Einstein thing that she can lay under. Oh she also has a tummy mat that has a little chair thing on it that holds her up above it and she loves it. I think it helps her be able to see the mat better, but still builds her muscles.

We bought Dylan the miracles and milestones play mat from Fisher Price and he absolutely LOVES it. He spends ages in it every day even up to 30 mins while I have a shower. Its got toys hanging from it with mirrors and that crinkly material which you can set at different heights for tummy/back time. The "petals" go round and there is a mirror and flashing lights.

I know it seems like a lot of money but I've seen my friends' mats and they are nowhere near this much fun. All the baby visitors who come round also love it. It takes 3xC batteries but they last ages.

For babies that love labels have you tried these

My friend bought DS one, bit expensive at £17 but she bought it!
I recently got one off ebay same one but in pink and a clip on one for pram (which would total £24) for £8- Bargain the kids love them and they're dead handy for pram and carseat x

Oh so now i understand why max has been fascinated with his bibbs lol they crinkle

thanks girls
