Hi, I'm a newbie to the world of assisted conception. We've been referred for IVF possibly with ICSI, we find out on 13 May. I'm beavering away with my research but would love to hear any personal hints or tips.

Is there anything you did or didn't do when you had treatment? Anything you wish you had done and would try next time? Any totally outlandish suggestions you've heard or read?

Hi Leila. All I can say is trust the process. It doesn't always work the first time, so be prepared to have to go through a couple cycles. Just know that this is going to be a very overwhelming process, but I can say now that I am pregnant, it is sooo worth it in the end. Try to stay positive and be good to your body. I strongly suggest at least 2 days of best red and your transfer, oh and I wish someone would have told me to take a day off after the initial egg retrieval, you will be very bloated and I was pretty uncomfortable. Other than that, just trust your Drs, and good luck. I really hope the best for you and this cycle! Baby dust!!!

I'm undergoing our first ICSI, and to give it best possible chance, I'm doing acupuncture to relax me:flower: Me, a non believer in Chinese medicine:haha:
DH believes in it, so thought I'd give it a go:thumbup:

i did months and months of weekly accupuncture (cost a fortune) and followed everything by the book diet wise etc and really took it all to the extreme, didnt touch a glass of wine for over a year beforehand no chocolate the list goes on, and it didnt get me anywhere, id always advise anyone to avoid alcohol and to rest after ec and transfer but other than that id carry on as normal x
