Whats causing period like pain throughout my long cycles??

Hi all, im new to all this so thought id try here as cant get no info on this. Just wondering if anyone knows what could be causing me to feel like i am constantly about to come on my period?

I started having problems 4 years ago when my cycles became v. long (around 60 days, sometimes even more) The problem is, from around about CD12 right to AF i get a constant dull ache in my stomach which radiate right down my legs. I would say its more uncomfortable than painful, just fed up of feeling like i am always on/coming on AF. (Have it now as i speak, and im on CD 16)

Also the symptoms i get towards end of my cycle are so close to early pregnancy symptoms that i am absolutely convinced that "this is the month for us" only for it to end in tears time and time again..

I have started to chart temps this cycle, nothing to report yet. Have apt with gyno 1st feb (last time i saw them was 2 yrs ago, when they did a scan and laparoscopy and found no cause)

Any feedback would be great

PMS can include period like pain. I don't have long cycles but I tend to start experiencing cramping a good 2 weeks before AF is due.

i always thought that pms was pre-menstrual though, as in, before my period. I start getting it soon after my period has ended and right to the next period?? Only time i feel half normal is when im bleeding! x

I think it depends on the person when they start experiencing PMS symptoms. I have some friends that have PMS a few days before a period, a week before a period, or longer (like myself). You should definitely ask about it next time you go to the doctor though since they could probably help more than I could. I can only imagine how lousy you feel with the cramping all the time.

Yeah its pretty lousy to say the least. Got gyno 1st Feb so ill ask there. Dr just looked right thru me as if he hadn't got a clue! Sometimes think even i could do better job than him lol x
