About £150 for Caitlin and same for Thomas, then £20 so far on hubby but need to get a few things still this week, about £100 on our families so altogether I'd say maybe £450-£500 x

It's well, well over £500 for me with my girls, Luca and all my nieces and nephews unfortunately.

I was thinking that as VAT is going up considerably next year that this Christmas maybe the last chance to get everything we've both been hoping for (electrical items etc) -Sorry thick question, but does anyone know if baby toys are VAT'ed? :)

Yes they are Hon ... baby/children's clothes and shoes etc are exempt from VAT but toys, even educational ones, attract full rate tax :nope:

Thanks Tatties mum, well that may have just convinced me then that I should buy her next years birthday presents and maybe even next years xmas pressies now  thats unless the stores adjust their pricing accordingly so the consumer is not badly affected by the hike

I've spent £225 on Niamh
£5 each on my siblings
£5 each on my two friends

That's everyone I buy for :)
