When can i have a bath after c section?

I had a c section 2 weeks today im just wondering when ill be able to have a bath? Every midwife whos checked my incision has said i can get a bath now i just might need help getting in and out. Im just too scared too dont want to get an infection? When did you ladies have a bath? Sick of showers now xx

I only have a bath so so didnt have a shower option i had baths every day from when i got home which was 2 days after section and i was fine.

Was you ok washing your hair in the bath? Was you able to have a soak? Did it sting? Lol im such a worrier xx

I couldn't wash my hair in the bath and still haven't tried now- I use the shower to wash my hair. But I put a couple of drops of lavender oil in a glass of milk and add to warm running water. I soaked in there for about half an hour. Lovely and relaxing, and lavender is good to help healing. It didn't sting at all, and I ad my first bath 1 week after my section.

I had a bath about a week after c section, and it was the best bath ever, so relaxing and took the aches and pains away. It definitely didn't sting.

my OB told me I had to wait 6 weeks! so i took a shower every day.

I had a bath 4 days after my c-section my midwife told me I could have one whenever I wanted as long as I had someone to help me get in and out of the bath, and I agree with Novella it was the best bath ever!

Yeah i managed to wash my hair ok i think i needed a hand standing up to get out of bath but was ok getting in i didnt have a long soak for first week or two as it seemed every time i thought about it baby needed me out for breastfeeding x

I had a bath the day I got home (so 2 days after section). Rang maternity ward to check it was ok and they said it was fine but not to use any products. Had help getting in and out but there was no stinging. Enjoy!

I'd been wondering the same thing! I'm 4 weeks post section now and had my first bath 2 days ago, had just been showering til then as was worried about infection, although I don't know why as scar has healed beautifully! No stinging or problems at all - was lovely bath!!!xx

The MW took me for a bath about 15 hours after my section when I was still in hospital.

I started having a bath after about 5 or 6 days I think.

^Also, no it didn't sting. I get out by turning over and getting on my knees and then standing up rather than trying to go straight from sitting down to standing up.

I'm having my 1st bath tonight Cant wait. I asked MW on day 5 when I had my dressing removed and she said it would be fine.
Though I have put it off until today, choosing to shower instead. x

Once ur section is closed (not healed) but not open a bath is fine just be careful getting in and out. id just use it to relax in, as washing ur hair may be dificult and pull a bit.
