Due to complications in this and previous pregnancies, I have been told if I want I can have a section or be induced early. I'm due in 5 weeks and live in Shropshire, England.

My question:- in your experience when do they usually induce or give the section? Thanks

For me (no complications) they've booked me in for induction 11 days after due date x

It depends on what your complications are... my induction is at 38 weeks for mild pre-eclampsia. Will be sooner if the condition worsens.

My section is booked for 38+5 for pelvis problems

Like the above poster says it completely depends on what the complications are. Usually they will only indce early due to things like pre eclampsia, GD or reduced movements. They may also induce early if the woman has had a previous stillbirth.
With regards to the section they will only usually give you one if it is elective and you have had a previous one with another child, if baby is breech or if there is a medical reason why you need one.

Do you have a consultant?? They would be able to tell you if its possible.
I have reduced movement with my baby and see my consultant on Thursday to discuss early induction.

I have been told my section will be planned for 39 weeks (planned section due to 2 previous sections). I have meeting with doctor tomorrow and ill get my date then. I really want 38+2 or 38+5 but not getting my hopes up.

My induction is booked for 7th may...4 days after due date, and im having a sweep 39+6, with my friends who have been induced for medical reasons it has been at about 38 weeks, altho my friend is booked to have a section at 39 weeks due placenta praevia (spelling?!?) xxx

how is it going with you...

My friend is being induced just 6 days after her due date, because she is overdue.

My pregnancy with my DD was induced at 39+2 due to a lot of bleeding towards the end :flower:

I was scheduled to be induced at 37 weeks because of my previous loss. This was decided upon very early in my pregnancy (after my regular ob/gyn and the high-risk specialist consulted). This was not scheduled as a c-section.

She ended up coming on her own at 36 weeks anyway.
