When did you buy big nursery items (crib, changing table, etc)

our baby room is done, i started buying around 13/14 weeks and big things after 20 weeks.
(already picked though lol)

i like having everything in place :)

This is my first and I haven't bought a thing yet. I'm guessing I will be a last minute kind of girl with a major panic. We will be having my baby shower around 30wks and I plan to register everything, buying what's left over after the shower. Hoping my plan will suffice!

I have bought bedding and a rocker so far. My sister is throwing a baby shower for us in mid-July as she will be going out of country for two months. I am glad I will be having an early baby shower though as I will know what to buy. We will buy the crib and changing table right after the shower if no one buys them. We are planning on getting new carpet and painting the babies room in early July though. It is my husbands office/man room now and is pretty gross lol.

I have the glider, that's it. My Mom is getting the crib, mattress and dresser in July when she comes out for the shower. I am buying the bedding in the next couple of weeks. My dh has not cleaned out the room yet so we really wouldn't have anywhere to store the furniture anyways. The glider is in the living room for now.

I have to say that I've very jealous of all these baby showers and parents buying big items :( My mum has offered to knit cardis and blankets :(

If I had my way I would have been like some of the others here and bought things right away, I am a planner and like to have everything in order as soon as possible. However we recently found out we have to be out of our house by Sep. 1st. and currently have no where to go....so that kind puts a crimp in our plans.

We are hoping to find a house of our own and not a rental but it takes time that we may not have. But either way we have to move so we figured we would just wait to get most of the baby stuff and furniture so there is less to move when we do go. Not to mention where we are at now is small so we would have nowhere to put stuff.

The only baby stuff I have are some clothes and a blanket and a diaper bag, My stepmother loves babies so yeah. I am hoping to move before Sep. and have a shower for most of our registry. But I am thinking we may still have to buy the crib and such ourselves as our families don't have a whole lot of money.

We don't have baby showers in my family until after baby is born, so I know what you mean,

haha, same here, we DO atleast have a glider so far, in the living room for now.

We already have a crib, and plan on buying a glider and a dresser that will double as a changing table in the next few weeks. We are doing it a bit early. But with trying to get all the baby stuff together and get money together for a bigger place, we don't want to be in a tight spot right before baby arrives so we want to spread things out!

I'm nuts. I bought the two most expensive things VERY early in the pregnancy. We only have a two rowed vehicle, so I had to buy all new carseats in order to fit 3 across. That cost us $750 for the three seats. We bought those when I was 10 weeks pregnant. Then we bought a $400 crib when I was 15 weeks pregnant. Haven't bought any other big ticket items yet. Just some clothes, cloth diaper, and a boppy. The crib we got a super great deal on so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to buy it when I did. It started at $400, like I said. BabiesRUs had the great trade-in event which I traded an old car seat in to get 25% off the crib which brought it down to $300. Then I had a $50 BabiesRUs gift card I got through credit card rewards and a $100 Visa gift card a family member had given us for Christmas. So we only spent $150 out of pocket. So that's why we bought so early.
