When did you go public?

With my first I told everyone from the start, literally the day I found out. Which I regretted because everyone started sticking their oar in saying "Do this, don't do that" blah blah blah.
My second, I wanted to wait til 12 weeks as he was supposed to be twins and we lost one so I thought we'd lose him too, but by 9 weeks I was already having to wear huge jumpers and trackies to hide the bump, and it was getting too hot so I had to tell people lol
Second time round was easier as people realise you've done it before so you dont need to be lectured on every little thing! Plus everyone knew that I'd lost one so they were really supportive and I knew they'd be there for me if the worst happened. Everyone's different tho :) xx

I found out at 5 weeks...told people at 6 weeks.

Thank the gods everything has worked out so far...I'm 18 weeks now.

With my next child it will be a secret until I am 20 weeks or so I think.

Everyone knew by 12 weeks.
I only found out at 10 weeks myself lol

I wanted to tell everyone straight away, I was so excited! I told family and a few close friends, but never went public until after my 12 week scan.

I think its a very personal decision, there is nothing wrong with telling people early the only reason a lot of people don't tell early is that there is a greater risk of problems etc at the early stages.

My DH and my BFF knew about it shortly after I found out (around 6w) - DH well because he's the love of my life and my BFF because we were on the road and I had to tell him that we couldn't be drinking buddies that week and that he was drinking for two!

My BFF told his wife probably shortly after I told him. Then, when I came back from vacation and had my OB appointment (at 8w), I told my mom, since I was pricing insurance. Now (13w 6d), our parents and siblings know, as do most of our super close friends. Our cousins don't know yet, but I'd like to hear the hb one more time (10/21 appt) before telling them. If I can hold off until Thanksgiving, I can show them the anatomy scan (provided all goes well).

Last time, I told a few people early and was glad I did, as I had a great support network for my m/c. But this time, I've been super cautious about who we've told when.
