When did you LO start wearing 12-18 month clothes?

When all the winter clothes were on sale at the start of spring, I bought all my Los winter clothes in 12-18 months (she turned 1 last month), but now she is 12 months, I'm not sure when she will fit in them. She is still wearing 6-9 month clothes and some 9-12 months, although some of those are huge. I wouldn't say my LO was petite, she has always been around 50th percentile for weight and 25th-50th for height.
All her current clothes are summer clothes so now I'm thinking I'll have to buy loads more 9-12 month winter clothes to see her through this year.

Rio has just gone into 12-18. He's 25lbs and was 80.5cms at his 12 month injections. Hope this helps!
I do think it depends on brand and the 'shape' of baby sometimes though. Longer torso than legs and vice versa x

I made the same mistake but with summer clothes. They fitted when he was well over 1 particularly shorts (doesn't matter if they are shorter than intended). I also intend to use a lot of his shorts in a few weeks then we go on holiday. 12-18 have nappy room, so if you have a 2 yo out of nappies they will fit in width. He was about 2.5 when he outgrew the t-shirts.

Clothing sizes are generally worked out on the 50th centile. So follow the charts and see when they are likely to fit. If you are in the UK it's easier to get away with winter clothes in summer than the other way round.

My lo will be 21 mo in a week and I bought a lot of clothes in the Next sale in 12-18 mo for his christmas last year. Hes fit into the 12-18 tops a couple of months ago but the trousers are still very big on him. Hes in 12-18 month bottoms from zara though so I think it depends on the brand.

I think it also varies massively on different shops. I find next to be massive. My lo is quite chunky and started waring 12-18 clothes around 13/14 months. He still fits in most of his 12-18 clothes now and he's started waring 18-24 from tesco as I find them to be abit smaller than other places. Personally I'd wait abit longer and buy clothes when/if needed. Or how about buying thick tights to go with dresses and long sleve vests to go under and cardies? Then these can go with dresses/shorts that you've already got in her current summer clothes but make them winter suitable also

He didnt start wearing 12-18 month clothes until 2+... agree that sizes vary wildly, he wore m&s trousers the other day that were 18-24 months :s
he is on the 25 centile for height and weight

LO just started wearing 12 to 18 mo clothes, and she's 10 months old...though she's a very tall girl. She gets all of her big sister's hand-me-downs though, which are all opposite seasons from hers, so I am facing the same issue with needing to buy season appropriate clothes in the proper size.

I find that clothes differ so much in size depending on where I shop! A lot she fit into just after she turned 12 months and a lot she is still fitting into now at 2.5 years!

My lo is pretty much the same size as yours, although has definitely shot up a bit in height recently! She has alwayas been bang on 50th for weight and im guessing is the same for height now too. She has been in 9-12 for a few weeks now but it doesnt drown her like I thought it would (confirming my guess of a growth spurt!) Probably another 2 months or so in that size but I dont mind putting dresses or tops/leggings that are slightly too big on her. I actually just took out the 12-18 stuff that we kept from dd1 (who went into that size at 11.5mths) and it is very big lol.

I totally agree that different shops are sooo different when it comes to sizes!

Not yet, he is 18 months! He was a preemie, tall and thin. He was in 9-12 everything, but since potty training he is back in 6-9 pants without a diaper.

Last xmas when lucas was 5.5 months he was already in some 12-18 months stuff! ! Now he's 14 months and he's in 9-12 month trousers and 12-18 month tops, I don't no what happened I think he had an outrageously large belly and it's gone now. Feel like he's been wearing the same clothes forever. The 12-18 month trousers are too big and the legs in his sleepsuits are too big

some 12-18 month things fit usually dresses and t shirts. trousers are still a bit big. she was always a size ahead but she slimmed down a bit with crawling/cruising.

Within the past 6 weeks maybe? He wears some 9-12 month stuff but it's getting a but small on him now. Some of his 12-18 month stuff is huge though! Deffo depends on the brand.

I switched her over at 12 months, but most of the clothing was loose on her (she's been at around 25% for weight and 75% for height, so she's long and lean like her daddy). They're just now fitting properly at 15 months. :)

I agree with the previous poster; definitely depends on the brand!

My ds was in 12-18 at 6 months - he was a whopper! Lol. He's reached a plateau now though as he's 2 in a couple of weeks and only just starting to break out the 2-3 years stuff. They're all so different! :)

LO has been wearing 12-18m for about two months despite only turning 1 on the 30/08. She's 85th percentile for her weight though and 'chunky'.

about 1 they were slighly big though he wore a mix of 9-12 and 12-18 til he was 15ishm. he's nearly 2 and still has a sleepsuit in 9-12 that still fits!

DS has always been pretty much true to size when it comes to clothes, he moved into 12-18months clothes right around his 1st birthday if my memory serves. DD is still in some 6-9 and some 9-12 clothes at almost 17 months, which is funny as she is on the same centile DS was at this age

Micah was in some 12-18 month stuff before 1 but he's still in a lot of it now at nearly 2! I don't think the sizes change much now. He has long sleeved vests from H&M for example in 12-18 and 18-24, he wears both sizes comfortably just the bigger ones have ever so slightly longer sleeves! I've bought some 2-3 stuff more recently but it's all needing to be rolled up, I'm not sure why I bought that size really except that he's going to be two.. It's a con lol!
