When did you start picking out baby names?

I haven't really began thinking of any names yet because I am only 7 weeks. When is it "normal" to start debating names?

There is no normal. Some couples have their names picked for years, some wait until the 20-week scan when they'll probably learn the sex, and some bring the baby home before they really start to debate what to call him/her.

Whenever you feel good about debating it is perfectly okay. I think there are some laws in most countries on when you have to pick a name (like, first few months of the baby's life or something), but that's it.

We started aroun then . It's taken us this long to come to something we agree on for each sex and we still have middle names to hash out z

We tend to start early as there isn't much else to do to prepare for baby right at the start!

Pretty much as soon as we found out with each of ours we started to make name lists. But this time we aren't even expecting yet and we have our names/shortlists

We have names listed on a white board.

I erase any vetoes.

We haven't had a discussion...its more like brainstorming.
