when did you stop using the baby monitor?

I still use mine plus mine acts a night light for Ryan when
He goes to bed xx

Mine has a night light too which is quite useful as I always go in and check on him now before I go to bed. I don't know when I'll stop using it, it still gives me peace of mind and I'll need to get another for bambino. :flower:

we used ours once, for 15 minutes. discovered it was pointless and crap, threw it away and havent had one since. i asked on here for some recommendations, but ive never felt the urge to spend so much money. we live in a flat, and 90% of the time, we co-sleep. x

We stopped using it when she was about 9 months old. Believe me, in this house and with her volume it wasn't necessary.

We have a video monitor and are still using it.

after about a week of using them cos everytime we switched the bathroom light on, the alarm would go off on the monitor.. and because the extractor fan stayed on for about 10 mins after the light went off, the alarm stayed on too :dohh:

I don't own one and never considered getting one.

I've never had one! I actually don't know anyone who does except on BnB! But I could have a weird circle of friends :haha:

I used one when i lived at my parents because its a big house and i might not hear himif he woke up. I stopped using it when we moved he was about 9 months. Both houses weve lived in have been 2 up 2 down shoeboxes so i can hear him x

Stopped when we moved into our current house. Earl moved into a toddler bed so was getting in and out, so could come and get us if he needed us. Seemed pointless as I could hear everything anyway, so packed it away as soon as he came out of his cot.

ditto - also because there was no way we could plug it in & keep wires & monitor out of reach. We still use it at my parents, he's in a bed but we can plug it out of reach - their house is big so I prefer to hear him bfore he wakes up enough to figure out how to find me!

We can't hear her unless she is at full scream from our bedroom and can't have the doors open at nights cos of the cats so we still have ours on. We turned the movement monitor off at about 16 months as her wiggling around the cot was giving false alarms, waking her and scaring us.

I'm so reliant on mine. I couldn't get it to work one day a few weeks ago and I was actually panicking. I swear by video ones.

haha i must be the epitome of paranoid- cos lyssa is 2 in 8 days- and she's still on her angelcare breathing monitor!

AJ will be 3 in November and we still use our monitor!
We keep the doors closed for the dog and don't hear AJ if wakes if we dont have it on.

Haven't used ours for months, we do leave the living room door open and his bedroom door is always open so I can hear if he cries.

We use our tv monitor but with sound down as we can hear his chattin as we liVe in a bungalow, the monitor is just to see what hes doing when hes chattin lol xx

Blind Post.

With DS we stopped using it when he was about 14 months. Once he was in a bed we couldn't put a monitor anywhere out of his reach.

With DD i can't remember every using it.

Both slept in our room until around a year so we never needed it at night and during the day i'd usually forget to put it on!!

I pretty much always hear them cry even if i'm downstairs with the tv on. If they wake up and don't cry i like to let them amuse themselves for a while.

We still use one. I couldn't imagine not!
I will stop when LO goes to school:haha:

I still use mine. Kian still wakes up quite a lot until he's in a deep sleep x

We still use ours, actually we have 2  A video monitor for when we are downstairs in the living room and she's in bed, and just a bog standard sound monitor in our bedroom. The latter does have the option of a movement mat, but we disconnected that when she started moving around the cotbed and getting loads of false alarms :dohh:

I think it'll be at least another year before we stop the monitor. We live in a townhouse, and have to keep doors shut because of the cats. At the moment, Roo is one floor down from us and at the front of the house while our room is at the back. Unless she is giving it big licks, we just can't hear her, and even then, it's faint. We're currently in the process of redoing the bottom bedroom as Roo's room, as we'll need the nursery for the new baby. So Roo will then be 2 floors away from us :(. Don't like it, but it's the best option out of all the ones we considered.

We've only ever used it before we go to bed in the evenings when we are downstairs but we'll continue to do this for the foreseeable. We don't want to be sat there wondering whether she's making a noise or if it was just the telly / neighbours etc...

LO smashed our monitor. Guess he felt he was ready to sleep without it...
