When did you take your Belly Button Ring Out?

Hey I'm from the 1st Trimister, just thought I'd jump ahead to ask you ladies when you had to take your belly button ring out? Do you plan to put it back in or do you think it will grow up?

I changed it for a maternity bar about 14 weeks or so, but took that out a few weeks ago as i caught it an it kinda ripped out

Its the same as a normal belly bar, just plastic
My own fault it came out, i caught my bump opening a door lol x

I put a maternity bar in at about 14 weeks too. I regret it so much, as I have Bad stretch marks round the top hole about a inch long up my belly and it now looks disgusting! I wish I had just taken it out! Has anyone else got quite bad stretch marks cos of their piercing?

it totaly depends on how your bump grows some peoples belly buttons stay deep some people show loads others very little... i couldnt even wear a maternity bar as my bump stretched so much and now im left with a rather nasty giant stretch mark looking thing over the scar material were my bar use to be...as for the holes ...well i doubt ill ever get anything back in there 2bh

hun i took mine out b4 14weeks... never put out else in it and i 2 got left with the 1 inch stretch mark u mention... u cnt get around it bar or no bar xx

I took mine out about 4 weeks ago cos it was really starting to hurt and stretch. Im not bothering with a maternity bar its not like i ever show my stomach anyway and i certainly wont be after having baby lol, dont think it will heal though the holes massive!

I took mine out in the very beginning with my 1st child, and just never put it back in with my 2nd, got it re-pierced a while after my 2nd was born. BUT i have nasty stretchmarks just like you described at the top of my belly button! So I guess it just happens whether you take it out or not. I Guess i'll be taking mine out sooner this time too then! lol

I swapped mine for a plastic pregnancy belly bar (£1.99 from Ebay) and Im still wearing it and I dont have any stretch marks around it at all. Im hoping to wear it right until LO arrives. I have just started taking it out for scans as it makes it easier for the doctor but I put it in again afterwards...

Hi Hun, I'm just over 28 weeks now and I swapped my metal one for a plastic one about 25 weeks, the metal one had become sore. I looked on the internet for ages, but actually found a plastic one in Argos belv it or not, and quite cheap too!! So I thought I would give it a go...its been fine, no longer sore and have plenty of room up and down. I'm just taking every week as it comes as I dont really want to lose it as it took me ages to have it done.

I dont have one stretch mark from pregnancy yet, so just keep using your bio oil etc twice daily and use the plastic bar and you should be fine...I think the plastic ones are less irratant to your skin too! GOOD LUCK xx

Well i took mine out (normal one not maternity bar) a few days ago after much hassling from the oh. I asked midwife and she agreed with him! It looked fine but was beginning to flatten a bit as belly got bigger, and i didn't want it to catch.

I think it completely depends on the size of your bump. Mine has only started getting really "large" recently. I've only bought a couple of pairs of maternity jeans etc so if your similar you will be fine for months yet hun xx

took mine out around 24 weeks, had a prego bar in there for about 2 weeks before that.

I took mine out early on and don't plan on putting in back in. My belly button is way streched out though

I'll be 26 weeks on Saturday and still have my (regular metal) ring in. I'm thinking of getting the plastic one, but for now it just seems to be ok. It doesn't hurt or get irritated at all! I'm worried that if I take out, I'll get a huge scar. Am I likely to get a scar either way? (whether I take it out or not?)

I've got a plastic maternity one too - and I never got stretch marks on it from my 1st pregnancy - can't remember when I took it out tho - somewhere near the end I think.

Gonna leave this one in, and take it out if it gets uncomfy or I catch it on something. Must be quite lucky with where it was pierced as its only a small gap between it and its still looks perfect despite my belly button being stretched and nearly flat!

I cant remember when I took mine out but it was before I started getting a bump and now the whole where it was is just like a HOORID MASSIVE stretch mark ( worse than my actual stretch marks)

I have just swapped my metal bar for a pregnancy retainer, not as pretty but the metal one was starting to get irritated and a bit sore. The plastic retainer is about 6mm longer and feel so much better.
