When did you take your Belly Button Ring Out?

My sis is still wearing hers, and shes due on the 27th lol!

As for that big horrible stretch mrk just above belly button... i've had that very same stretch mark since my first pregnancy, and ive had it pierced!

my sister is a body piercer she changed by belly bars at 18 weeks for plastic ones however my top bar started to pull so i took it out altogether if you've had yr piercing more than a year they are very easy to go back in after and will not heal up. if yr belly button starts to feel like you have a stingy pulling feeling on one side take yr bar out trust me it gets worse if you dont. as i said it wont heal up. if it has already got sore clean it with salt water and use a good oil or moisturiser to massage into the piercing.
if anyone needs any more help i can ask for you my sisters got a top national award for her piercings and after care x

I took mine out at about 8 weeks as it got a bit infected. No stretch mark and small hole at the moment, but still got 9 weeks to go, so lots could happen! Saying that my belly is already very big and my bellybutton totall inside out. I think it is more down to luck from the look of these posts than what you do.

I havent taken mine out or swapped it for a plastic retainer yet but I think its due to the fact that I was rather podgey pre pregnancy anyway.

I'm 29 weeks almost and still have mine in, it seems to be fine.

Um..TMI alert...

any ladies got a piercing lower down? Did you take that out? I have read they have to come out in case they tear, which would suggest a full on clitoral tearing which I dont quite believe and therefore have left mine alone.

I had a belly piercing in for over two years, took the bar out for two days and could not get the damn thing back in.I have had it out now for over 5 years but have always still had the holes. Now the bit of skin inbetween the holes looks like a red strech mark. Its also moved about a cm up from my belly button as my belly has grown and pushed my belly button out a bit. I have a very deep inny and I am hoping I dont get an outy towards the end! Seems its pot luck no matter what you choose to do.

I took my metal one out about 3 weeks ago and have put a plastic one in from Argos (was about £3). The metal one wasn't irritating me or anything, but my midwife recommended that if I leave it in to get a plastic one as it is a bit more maleable (spelling?) than the metal one. I take it out for the scans though.

Am 39 weeks preg and still hav normal bar in, no stretch marks and midwife has neva commented on it x

I'm 37 weeks and I still haven't taken mine out or swapped it for a maternity one  I figure I'll keep it in as long as it's comfortable, and so far, no problems at all. I actually think it kind of adds to the cuteness of my bump, so what the heck?

I know in the past when I've taken it out, I start to have problems putting it back in after about two or three days (and I've had it pierced for years), so I would imagine that if you take it out without replacing it with a maternity one it will heal over pretty quickly.

I took mine out fairly early on - around eight weeks. I don't plan to put it back in afterwards.

I still have mine and ill be 29 weeks pretty soon and plan to wear it to the baby arrives since I dont have any stretch marks on my belly.

I'm 32 weeks and i still have my normal bar in as well I don't have any stretch marks and my drs don't care.

I just had to take my bar out for my scan as it can scratch the probe...

FYI - some people's will start to close up even if you've had them for ages. I've had mine for 15 years and at 36 weeks I thought maybe I should take it out, even though I didn't need to and after 1 day it started to close up, so I put it back in. I also had to take it out for scans.
