Looking for input on when others made the switch of having baby sleeping in their room/bassinet.. To sleeping in their own room in a crib??

Most professional advice says six months but a lot of my friends did this at 4-6 weeks! My head is lost because i dont want to wait until 6 months but i so dont think ill be ready at 4-6 weeks. My son is currently two weeks!

What did you do? Why? And what worked or did not work?

I just moved my daughter into her room last night, she'll be 4 months old tomorrow. The only reason I DID move her was bc she was starting to wake up when I would come in to go to sleep so I'm hoping it'll help her sleep more without all of the commotion. Not to mention when my 3 yr old comes in at 2/3am and is crying as well. We'll see how it goes!

DS is just over five months and is still in our room. He outgrew his small crib a few weeks ago so we have had to move his big cot bed in. We won't move him to his own room till he is sleeping through completely. At the moment he is fussing a few times a night on the verge of waking up, as he's next to me I can stroke his face or give him a dummy and stop him properly waking up if he was in his own room he'd be screaming and fully awake by the time I got through so I'd be up much longer settling him. TBH just because of how much hassle it was moving the cotbed we probably won't bother to move him out till about 12 months. I cant imagine having him in his own room at 6 weeks.

We made the transition around 3 months when our twins outgrew their Rock n Plays. We had them get used to it by taking naps during the day in their cribs. It went surprisingly smooth! In case it helps, these are all of the tricks we used: https://www.theydontfeedthemselves.com/transitioning-twins-to-cribs/

We didn't switch until she was a year old. Even though she started sleeping straight through really early, I was still constantly checking on her, so it made it easier on me to have her close. I also don't trust electronic baby monitors.

It's about what you're personally comfortable with!

We moved our eldest ant six months and youngest at eight months. Left the youngest in with us for longer solely because she was no trouble, unlike the big one who was a terrible sleeper!

Public health in Canada said to wait until minimum 4 months. My son was 4 months corrected age (5.5 months actually age). He was in a swing at this time for a couple of weeks before we moved him to the crib.

I share a bed with my 3 year old and my 7 month old.

12 months. We moved into a three bedroom house rather than the tiny one bedroom cottage we shared for her first year!

She has slept much better since getting her own room, though most nights she ends up in bed with us at some point.

8 weeks. Zoë had outgrown her Moses basket and we don't have room for her cot bed in our room.

For a couple of weeks before we moved her I used to change her for bed and getting up in the morning in her cot bed. We've never had any problems with getting her to settle.

6 months with DD and 5 months with DS. No issues whatsoever.
