My LO goes 3/4 hrs between feeds throughout day. I try to extend them at night but he always wakes after about 4 hrs. I don't mind the midnight feed but the middle of the night one I'd like to stop. I let him cry for a bit but it goes on so i know he's genuinely hungary. He's nearly 4 months. He's only eva done 5 hrs in one stretch and that was only twice. I really need sum quality unbroken sleep as i'm permanently shattered.
Any advice? Should he be sleeping thro now?
Thanks :flower:

My LO doesn't do middle of the night feeds sometimes (like last night, she slept through from like 11 til 6, she went 11 til 7 the night before the night before last....(confusing huh ) but then the night before last she had a feed at like 3am.... So sometimes she sleeps through, other times she wakes between 2-4 usually for a feed)... She's been doing this for about a week now I think.

We find she sleeps through more when she has more to eat between 6 and 11 (we have fussy time, where she will eat more than usual and be more restless in the evening)... She does better when she has a bedtime bath with me also and settles easier usually after that.

Not sure if that's any help, but fussy time is part of the key for us...and now we have a bedtime routine in place she's doing even better! :) She sometimes sleeps for 5 hours during the day anyway, so could just be that she likes her sleep (just like her dad and I ^_^)!!

xx

Hun I wish I had some advice but my LO will do a (hopefully) 3.5 to 4 hour stretch then want a bottle around midnight... and then is up every 2 or 3 hours for a bottle. Its a killer... everyone keeps telling me that he should drop his night feedings, but I do not see it happening. Good luck though, my positive sleep vibes are with you!

My Anna lost a lot of weight in the first 2 weeks so we had to wake her up for night feeds til she was about 4 weeks old!!

But by the time she was 8 weeks old she was doing great and she dropped the feed around then!:flower:

Abbey has sleep thru since 5 weeks, I think we've been very lucky though.

Have you tried using a dummy? I found with Abbey she only really wanted something to suck on for comfort and wasn't actually hungry. x

My lo dropped her middle of the night feed at 3 weeks, she was going from between 8-9 till 5 when she dropped that feed. Like the above poster said, have you tried a dummy, my lo has hers if she wakes in the night and goes right back to sleep. Hope you find something that works.

At the beginning it was feeds at 11pm, 2am and 5am. The 2 am went about 8 weeks and the 5am about 12 weeks. He's now just fed at 11pm then goes through to 8am X

I think it was arround 10 weeks !! i still cant believe how lucky i am she is such a good baby ! her last feed is 11:00pm and then she will wake up sometimes 8:00 am sometimes 9:00 am and sometimes ..........10:00 am ! i was shocked when that happened ....

Well........ until 3 months it was a Midnight and 4am feed, then went to one around 1 to 2am.

It was one week short of 6 months that she dropped her night feeds altogether. She didn't slept through constantly then but didn't need milk. It wasn't until 7-8 months that sh really got good at sleeping through.

Every baby is different - I kept on hanging in there until 12 weeks believing she should then sleep through. My LO had other ideas and said she needed her milk so we went with her. 3 months on I've forgotton the sleepless nights so there is an end to it! -Just keep going your LO knows what they are doing!

my little boy was 18 weeks wen he went from 10pm till 7am..

12 wks. He started to go 12-13 hrs without feeds in between xx

Emma dropped her first night feed when I switched her to formula at 3 months, but didn't drop the second one until about 6 months!

Ellie dropped one night feed around 8 weeks, now she's going from 8pm to 2am to 6am. She was small at birth, so I expect her to be a little behind on dropping the second bottle. When she wakes up I give her her dummy while I prepare the bottle, I find it she's 'early' she'll go back to sleep, but if it's more than 5 1/2 hours from her last bottle, the dummy just doesn't do.

Nathan has been sleeping through, 8pm til 7am with no feeds in between since he was 4 months old. :) x
