When do I have to contact my employer about returning to work from my maternity leave? It is over as of March 2, 2010... one month before? Or should I start calling now?

I need to sort a new uniform and work out my work availability with them, possibly schedule some shifts to refresh my memory since I've been off for a year...

:flower:

Im not 100% sure but if it was me id be ringing them now so theyve got plenty of notice

At our place, if you're going back on the same terms i.e. not part time etc then you can technically just turn up on the day! But if you have things to sort out, then I'd contact them now.

If you want to go back part time then you need to inform them in writing at least 2 months before your return date at my place.

Every place is different, ours is 8 weeks in writing, which reminds me i had best do that

I think every company is different, but I'm planning on contacting them at the end of this month and would like to go back in April. I need to talk to them about changing from full-time to part-time, otherwise I think I'd just let them know maybe a month in advance what day I'd be back.

I'd make sure you call them with enough time so that they can give you shifts starting the 2nd.. So whenever the schedule for the 2nd would be getting made, make sure you call them by then!
Doesn't hurt to call them just to touch base on when they would like you to call to go over stuff like that!
