When do you apply for tax credits?

Hi Girls i am 14 weeks pregnant and just wondered when you have to apply for your tax credits by? do you have to wait until the baby is born or can you get the ball rolling sooner?

cant get payment for a baby until there born.

if you working and over 25 and earning less than 18k as year you may get working tax credits now..

if not as above you can claim once baby is born
