When do you start seeing a "positive" on your Opk's?

Just curious as to what cycle day you girls start your OPK testing and when do you generally see the line start to darken? I'm fairly new to regular testing and wondering whens a good time to start to not miss the surge...based on a 28 day cycle.

I know there will always be a faint line on the OPK, but I'm cycle day 11 today and thought I would have a little bit of a darker line than the last 2 days.

I start with then on CD10 and the line usually gets dark around day 15 or so. It might not stay dark for a couple of days though. Mine is usually real dark for one day. Last month it was dark on CD14 then light for three days and then dark again! Totally bizarre!
Good luck!

My cb advanced line was non existent until the morning of my surge haha CD 18

My targets showed very near positives, like color the same as the test) 5 days before that. I got a clear, dark, immediate positive the day before that.

Ok whew! I started OPK testing on day 9 and today is day 12 and it's still SO faint....barely there

You're good. :) It also depends on your lp when to expect to ovulate. My cycles are currently irregular because I am still regulating after an iud, but my lp is always 12 days. So the last three cycles I have a Oed CD 28, CD 12, and CD 18. I also ovulated the night I got my first solid smile and second day of dark positives from Target. How often do you test?

I've noticed that doing them when your urine is darker and more concentrated can effect the lines too. Digi ones are brill I'd recommended them. The only thing is that they are expensive. I test with both normal and digi. Due to o on Saturday 29th and my lines are still light too

I'm currently testing daily but randomly. I'm on cycle day 17 and the line is still pretty strong even though I had a positive on cycle day 14. I still have ewcm...we did the bd last night...so confusing! I'm just using the cheapies from Amazon...

since I stopped bc my cycles have been long and I was Ovulating much later in the cycle with a short LP so I have been using the cheap OPK every day of the cycle starting on CD10, just to get a feel. Mine usually show no second line for awhile, then very faint and then start to darken about 3-5 days before, depending on the cycle.

This cycle however I started to get some decent lines showing up about 3 days before O, but htey were definitely lighter. I started using digital (clearblue) This cycle because the cheap ones are hard to read, and I'm glad I did because yesterday when I tested my cheap stick had a very definite second line but it was NOT as dark as the control line, so I would have determined it was not yet positive, but I got a  smiley face from the digi so I am going with that.

Also, the more concentrated the urine the better. I have found that if I don't make sure to limit my water intake for about 3 hours before I take the test I won't get a good, accurate test. The tests say not to urinate for at least 4 hours before, but I've found what's more important is limiting the water during that time.
