When does a child stop being a toddler?

personally, i think 18 months or when they start walking, whichever comes first! :flow:

 do you mean that as when they become one?

i think 12-18mish to 3 and a half maybe?

Some time between 3-3.5 I suddenly felt like he was a preschooler rather than a toddler.

Agreed - somewhere between 3-4, probably closer to 3 for most. Pretty much when they hit Pre-School. My DS was put into Pre-School early (at just over 2) so I still consider him a toddler. But everyday I see a little less toddler and a little more Pre-Schooler in him. :( The baby is long gone! :sad2:

I would assume the majority of children are no longer toddlers by 4 years old.

id say 3 but now zanes 3 i still want to see him as a toddler but as he keeps telling me hes now a big boy hahah

definitely by the age of 3, i wouldnt class a pre-school child/3 year old as a toddler.

I think by the time they start school. It depends on the child though, some kids are like little mini grown ups by the age of two and a half. Others (like my daughter!) act like toddlers until they start school. In my daughters case I think starting school made her grow up a lot and she's more like a 'kid' now than a toddler.

I would say around 3 as that's when most children are in some sort of pre-school and they grow up a lot.

I'd say 3-3.5 as well as Hannah seems to be more of a child now to me than a toddler. :)
