Is it at the beginning of 36 weeks so 36w 1 day or the beginning of 37 weeks.....
I'm confused....

Sorry fixed the weeks....pregnant brain :p

Its actually 37 weeks they consider full term :)

Term is considered as 37 weeks...full term is 40 weeks!

It's when you hit 37 weeks not 27 weeks. It used to be 38 weeks a few years ago.

Do you mean hitting third tri? If so that's 27 weeks Hun, full term is 37 weeks

Hahaha sorry girls I meant to write 36-37.... Had a bit of a pregnant brain and wrote 26-27.

I just wansnt sure if you would count 36w1day as week 37....

Haha just noticed you edited the thread :p but yes as others have said it is 37 weeks and they reckon baby normally turns up anywhere between 38 and 42 weeks but they won't try and stop labour if it comes on after 37 weeks :)

I heard 37.....like someone said they wont try and stop it then as lungs are fully formed etc.

In the Fredericton hospital its actually 36.

Interesting....I wonder what it is at BC Womens

Not sure, when I went on my hospital tour we passed the NICU and the nurse said that babies born at 36 weeks will not be sent there because they are considered full term :) Maybe it is like you said, 36 weeks is technically 37 weeks!

Term is 37 weeks here and full term is 40 weeks. Term for twins is 36 weeks and full term is 38 weeks. Where I'm from they won't stop your labor if it starts anytime from 34 weeks on with a singleton or twins. Their philosophy is that nature knows what it is doing so if you go into labor at 34+weeks then you are having that baby.

well if your 36w + 1 ...ur actually in ur 37th week if you get me, and when your 37weeks, thats the end of the 37th week...ive been working it out like that for the whole of my pregnancy...so right now even tho ticker says im 37 + 1...im in my 38th week.

I've read that too that at 36+1 you are actually in the 37th week but not at the end of week 37 til you are actually 37 weeks. Its confusing this pregnancy malarkly eh?! x

it kinda makes sense tho...as if you count the weeks up til ur due date...the end of the 40th week is the due date...so the 40th week must have started the 7 days earlier...lol bt i can see why people would find it confusing...lol x

37 weeks is term; however, I was told that if I went into labor at 36 weeks they wouldn't try and stop it. I think they figure they can just put the baby in nicu if needed.

When I read baby progression email thingys like baby centre they usually say something like "you are now 37 weeks, this week bla bla happens and so by the end of the week you are considered full term" so from these emails I always took at that what happens during that week should be done by the end of the week if this makes any sense at all lol?????? So I took it as being full term (or term if you wana call it that until the due date) as being more towards the end of the week. But it's all semantics, your baby is very well developed by now :D x
