So I have a girl name and a boy name picked out for the first child, but I need a boy and girl name for the second. Not pregnant yet but I want to have names already planned so I have a name to call them when I am pregnant.

Here are the first names; Boy: Roan (Witt) Girl: Alina (Rae)

Second Name possibilities; Boy: Tavin/Dexter (Rhys) Girl: Evelyn (Fae)

Hubby Likes Dexter and I like Tavin (Tay-Ven), I thought maybe we could compromise on making the other the middle name but I really like Rhys as the middle.

I also like Evelyn cause she could be Evee or Evie for short and I like the middle names being sweet 1 syllable simple yet pretty/feminine.

What do you ladies think?

I love Dexter it's one of my faves! My other half doesn't like it though! I've got an Evelyn (Evie) I think it's a beautiful name. In fact I like all your names! And I don't normally like names that are a little different. Tavin is the one that I probably like the least but saying that i don't hate it I think it's quite nice. Good luck with whatever you pick xxx

I wouldn't say they are odd
Your tastes may also change once pregnant so I would put too much pressure on yourselfs to choose just yet xx

I really like how Tavin sounds, so I prefer it over Dexter, even though Dexter is a really nice name too. Could you combine all three names, so your boy would be Tavin Dexter Rhys? I think all three sound really good together (if you're not opposed to two middle names).

I think you'll get constant mispronounciations from Tavin, I would have pronounced it like Gavin with a T (so a soft 'a').

The others aren't odd at all.

I love how you would pronounce Tavin but I agree with staralfur that people are going to mispronounce it unless you change the spelling. Not such a big fan of Dexter but that's just my personal prefereance. I don't think any of the names sound odd

Agreed with PPs on Tavin, I read it like Gavin. That's the only one that I'd call unusual though!

Thank you all for responding and your suggestions. It's true they aren't TOO odd but like you said I can't think of a single person around here named Tavin but I really love it, and if he wanted after he grows up a little he could use his middle name. Your right though, when pregnant I might want to do a different name but for now I really love the names the more I hear them and say them.

Isn't that how you say Gavin? like Gay-Ven?
I guess I've been saying it wrong ahaha

I'm a fan of Dexter here, but I'm biased because that's my DS2 name :haha: Is that unusual where you are? I thought it was "not common but not made up" lol, but since I named him, there are a few other Dexters popping up around here.

I agree with Tavin sounding like Gavin (gah vin) I love the middle name of Fae spelt like that, my daughter is Rayna Fae and fae spelt like that means fairy folk :)

other names you might like:
Boy

Zander, Elijah, Asher, Rowan, River.

Girl
Merida, Arya, Lyra, Leona, Maia, Eliza.
