When should I start taking the pill again?

I had my son on October the 7th. My doctor says we should wait four-five weeks before my boyfriend and I have sex again and if I know my boyfriend it will be four. The reason that I got pregnant in the first place is I stopped taking the pill when I broke up with my first boyfriend and didn't start again until two weeks before I had sexual relations with my current boyfriend. I was hoping two weeks was long enough but I have a son now to prove that it isn't. Although I'm glad that I had Jamal, I really don't want to have another baby until I finish at least four years of college. My doctor is going to put me on Progestin-only birth control pills next monday, since I'll be breastfeeding. How effective is Progestin? Has anyone ever been on Progestin, how long should I be on it before having sex and has anyone gotten pregnant while taking it?

i'm on micronoir and started taking it when Lo was 21 days old i think it depends on which one you take
