When to offer juice?

I took my LO to the doctor today for her 6 month check up. Doc said she can have juice, but it needs to be diluted. I think after 10 months, though, the juice doesn't need to be diluted.

I have given Holly very diluted freshly squeezed oj twice (when she was super constipated).

She loves drinking water, absolutely guzzles it from her doidy cup or bottle, so I figure while she's happy with that, stick with it.

It's much better for them to eat the actual fruit rather than have the juice - that way they get the fibre etc.

I also have a serious issue with 'Fruit Shoots' and the like. Just so much sugar in them. When I was a baby, my mum let me have lots of Ribena. It rotted my two front teeth, which means I then had to have all four front teeth taken out in one go to stop it spreading.

Hannah gets juice only when she's constipated (apple/prune juice here works amazing well for us on that issue ;)) otherwise it's water throughout the day and milk at meal times :D

It's said not to give it until atleast 6mo, but better if you wait even longer. We didn't give Hayden any until 15mo and always very watered down, also only 100% fruit juice. Even Landon who is almost 7 only gets it watered down except for the occasional juice box. They don't get it daily

Ruby has tried juices a few times. Apple & pear. Apple & Orange. and plain Apple. Only half an ounce at a time as I don't really like using them, but hv suggested it before suggesting early weaning as we needed to get more cals into her due to not putting on enough weight. She seemed to like them but now prefers her yog-yog lol

We have always given water in connah's sippy...MIL gave juice once but he wouldnt entertain it.
So we still give water and connah loves it :)

We might give him some juice in a few months for something different but for now i think water is fine xx
