When will you stop bf? What makes your decision?

So my goal is one year. I'm not sure if I'll feel comfortable that long though. My LO is a big boy he is 98 percentile. My cousin's baby is a ear old this week and 98 percentile and he is HUGE! I can't imagine a kid that big bf. maybe it'll be different when it's my own but I don't know. I enjoy bf but honestly I don't think the bond is what will keep me going. It's health motivated and sad enough, financially. Maybe it's jut too early on to truly enjoy the bond yet. When are you planning in stopping?

I also hope to stop bf my daughter at about 1 year. I breastfed my son till he was 1 year 4 months and it was not fun after 1 year (all the new teeth in his mouth, my nipples were so sore those last months ). But it can be very different and there are so may different factors at play so I'll wait and see how it all goes before I make my final decision.

I'm going for a year too. I fed my son til just before a year and we were naturally coming to an end but there was one particular week which was mega busy at work and I was having to leave early and miss bedtime and it was just the right time. I did miss it though.

At the moment I'm thinking about half an hour!!! (I'm in the middle of the world's longest ever cluster feed and am getting over thrush on my nipples so in excrutiatibg pain!)
But providing I get through this I'm aiming for 10 months as I have to go back to work when lo is 11 months. Would consider maybe continuing a night feed or something if we both want to, but expressing won't be possible.

Alice is 3 next week and going strong. I'd imagine she'll wean in the next year or two. For Arthur, my bare minimum would be 2 years, and then for as long as he needs it.

Elias is 21 months, and still breastfeeding. Fenix is 8 months, and of course, still breastfeeding too. I plan to breastfeed until they self wean.

I can't imagine I being fun after a year. The teeth is one of my main concerns. Plus as big as he will be, he will be drinking 10 oz at a time probably ha ha. I'd be leaking all over the place ha ha.

I'll be waiting for my 2 to self wean. DD is still going strong at almost 2.5 years and I think will probably nurse for a while longer. DS is only 7 months, but I don't think he will go quite as long as his big sister. I'd like to get to at least 2 years with him.

BTW, teeth shouldn't interfere with BFing. I've found it can be uncomfortable during teething but then goes back to being ok.

My big goal is 1 year, small goal of 6 months. I would let LO self wean but I may not be able to as I'm already suffering due to medication I can't take while breastfeeding. Really hoping I can make it to a year!

Tabitha is 2.5 years and still going strong. My goal was to get to at least 2 years. I know what you mean about not doing it for the bond, I've never really enjoyed breastfeeding so I only do it for the benefits to her.

Im hoping to let Oakley self-wean but I have to return to work in 4 months so dunno if that'll complicate things enough to make me stop or not. I really hope I can keep on going though

To you and the pp who mentioned loving it so much, when did you start loving it? Because honestly I don't hate it or anything but I certainly wouldn't say I love it. Sometimes I enjoy it but it's really something I find somewhat a chore. Between having to supplement with expressed milk in the beginning and pumping to up my supply because I have a big baby and thrush that refuses to go away, I find it a chore.
