I feed my baby every two hrs during day or sooner if shes hungry. At 11pm is last feeding and if possible we sleep til 3-330 then wait til 630-7 then right back to every two hrs... I need to start saving milk for when i go back to work. I have medela pump n style advanced. She is now four weeks old. Ill be working 1-2 days week away for 10-12 hrs approx in aug. How can i establish a good supply to freeze along with having enough left for her to breast feed? Also when should i pump?? I really need sleep for my job so i work properly. I will be allowed my lunch idk if ill get anyother breaks during 8-9 hr work day though. Advise please?

I used to pump one side whilst lo fed on the other, first thing in the morning.

That's what I do: Pump one side in the morning and allow DD to nurse on the other side (which is her favorite anyway :winkwink: ) when she wakes up.

Is one side enough for baby? What time is best in am? Could it be anytime?

Are you in uk? If so you by law are allowed pumping breaks at work. Also I tend to go to bed and pump around 1 hour after last feed xx

Us we have rights to pump at work if 50+ employees only.. Unfortunately it doesnt apply to my job :(

how long should u pump for?

Oh that's annoying! I have a double pump and usually do it for ten mins every eve. I get between 90mls and 140mls at present. If I had a single I would probably just do ten on each side xx

Yep, one side has always been enough for DD. The only time I had to switch sides was in the early days to try and up my milk supply. I usually wake up in the mornings before my daughter and pump for about 10-15 minutes. After you've done it a bit, I think your body gets more accustomed to using a pump and more milk comes out than in the beginning.

I sometimes wake up at different times but usually around 6-7am. It's my "me" time. After I pump, I sit back and drink my coffee, read a bit or watch the news.
