Whens the best time...

Hey ladies,

Im about to start my first round of Clomid (yay!) and was wondering what days we should on?
I will be taking it days 2-6 and then I have to have a scan on day 10 and 14.

From what ive been reading I should do it days 9,11 & 13?

Is that right?

I presume it depends on what the first scan shows on day 10 but didnt know if I should do day 9 aswell just to make sure.

Also wanted to check its defo best to every other day and not every day? Its so tempting to do it everyday just to make sure!

ignore everything you read about the days - everyone reacts differently. For example some women ovulate a lot later than usual - such as CD20. My first cycle I ov'd on CD12! I go with a system something like the SMEP plan - every other day until I get a positive opk, then every day until ov confimed (neg opk, temp surge) then one more for luck. Worked for me. xxx

And I think the reasoning behind every other day rather than every day is because that produces optimum quality swimmers.

Ooooh we are in the same boat!
I had my last clomid yesterday! I'm still wondering if I'm even going to ovulate like you?! Im on day 8 now

I hadn't for a year either. Nothing. And first cycle of clomid I ovulated and got a bfp! Admittedy not a sticky one so not the happiest ending, but still - I hope it gives you something to cling on to! Cycle #2 did nothing however so I am hoping cycle 3 with 100mg will get me laying like a battery hen!

Are you all stocked with opks? I just got cheapies and tested every day, then as soon as i got something close to a + i started using the digis with smiley faces. I got to sick of comparing likes to see which is darker. A simple yes or no works for me!

Dragonmummy is right - everyone's bodies are different and are even different cycle to cycle.

This month was my first medicated cycle and I ov'd on cd15 (whereas I usually ov on cd19). I ended up having extra scans b/c they kept thinking that I was so close to ov (based on scans) but my blood work wasn't matching - so they kept a close eye and did extra scans. Are you also doing a hcg trigger shot? That would really help with the timing of ov. The trigger injection forces your body to ovulate with 24-48 hours of that shot.

I am pretty sure that they will tell you even which days to dtd.

Im still waiting for my af to show after taking Norethisterone and then I'll be taking my clomid. Have you had any side effects with it?
Im going abroad for a week in a few days and hoping I wont get too many side effects... I was going to wait until I got back from hols to start my meds but I couldnt wait! lol

I had some hot flushes and a few PMT style mood swings. Plus lots and lots of ovulation twinges! All cycle too, so not necessarily a sign that eggs are imminent.

Ive stocked up on digi OPK's - expensive but worth it if I get my first smiley face in forever lol. I am also using the fertile Focus saliva ov microscope so I can have a back up
Im not having the hcg trigger shot as my FS doesnt do them for some reason? Will see what they say at the 10 day scan.
Im so excited but so scared it wont work.

I've not really had much at all, the first day I was a little light headed. But I have been taking in the eve so it doesn't mess around with my day too much. The metaformin has been worse! I've had my dose doubled so it's taken a while for my body to get use to that

Saz I'm not sure they do trigger shots as a matter of course over here, I think it's more standard in the USA. Could be wrong though. Usually am!

Awww poor you! How long did you manage on it? I heard from a few people they had very bad side effects. I was ill the first week, I had to take it off work, I just couldn't do anything. I still get bad headaches every now an then but if it's sorting me out then I cant complain at a headache

Im off to France for a week to stay in a lovely big cottage with its own river and woods. Taking the dogs with us as they have their passports now.
Definitely need a break and to hopefully stop worrying about TTC for 1 minute would be nice!
