Everything was going really well until 2 days ago when I started to get pain in left nipple when he was feeding. After advice here and searching the Internet, I think it's because he isn't getting a deep enough latch. The right side is ok with no pain.
When he's latched on it doesn't look as if he's got much of the aerola, certainly not underneath. His mouth tends to be covering the upper part of my aerola. I've read a lot of the Internet about obtaining a deep latch, but what starts off as a good latch more often turns into pain and he appears to be sucking on my nipple. Is there a reason why he'd be losing a good latch part way through feeding?
Any advice?
Thanks if you've got this far x
