Wheres my scan letter??!

I had my 'booking in' appt almost 2 weeks ago and by my lmp I am almost 12 weeks but I still have not had a letter letting me know the date of my first scan! Does it usually take this long? And is there anyway I can chase it up?

Hi, i had the same problem and started to worry as my friend told me she had hers after a week. I was gonna ask my midwife about it and ring them but it came up the day just before the appointment. So i still told my midwife that it took a month and she said that was a bit weird as they usually pretty fast. I would be you i would wait a bit and then ring.

I'd give them a call if I were you. I had my booking in appointment on Monday 18th July and my can letter arrived Friday 22nd!

My midwife said it's not uncommon for an appointment to be made but they forget to send a letter, she told me to call to chase if I hadn't received anything one week from my appointment.

Yeah def ring them my midwife phoned the hospital when i went for my first app with her,booked it and gave me the date straight away.

I had my booking appt on Tuesday and received my scan letter today (2 days later) I'm over the moon, it's in 2 weeks and 6 days, just before I go on holiday! Now I'm wondering does that mean if the scan goes ok I can tell people at 11+3 haha, I'm terrible, everybody will know before I meant them too, I'm doing a poor job of keeping it a secret so far so I really hope everything is ok anyway sorry to go on (just excited) I would definitely be chasing yours up xxx

I was told that it would take about 2 weeks to arrive as they werent very quick about it and it turned up just after 2 weeks.
If you are getting impatient then give them a ring and chase it up, if you think you could wait until its been 2 weeks then leave it another few days!

Definitely chase it up! I was very pleased as at my first midwife appointment she just phoned the hospital whilst I was there and I got to choose my appointment! For an impatient sod like me that was a god-send!
