Which baby rice...?

hi Ladies

my LO is coming up to 5 months so we're thinking about getting ready for weaning in the next couple of weeks...

Which baby rice/ cereals did you start with? Would like to try an Organic type if possible but thought would ask your advice and see what you found the best and recommend or are they all the same??

We started with cow & gate pure baby rice, but it doesn't really taste of anything! We started weaning at 6 months so quickly moved onto pureed veggies and fruit.

I started yesterday with Milupa baby rice with added milk. All u need is to add water to it.

We started Evie on Aptamil Creamy Porridge a few days ago. On the box it says for 4+ months and you just add water She loves it!

Is it by Milupa? The Aptamil we have is by Milupa & I'm just wondering if it's the same. I dint knw there is Aptamil baby food & I just went for normal baby rice by Milupa. My LO is on Aptamil formula frm Milupa.

I started on the Hipp Organic stuff. They all taste the same (basically of nothing) so I wouldn't worry. You don't have to start with baby rice though, you could just go straight to puree or finger food if you like

My LO is also on Aptamil Formula. The Creamy Porridge sounds good so may have a go with that and see if he likes it. Will also be pureeing veg as well..

Although Ive recently come across the Baby Led weaning theory and so am a bit confused.. Will do some reading on this site and see what the others say how that works,,,,

Yes hun, it's by Milupa
They have 3 different stages of rice/porridge that has different stuff in. The 4month+ stuff is Gluten free, so ideal for first weaning, the next stuff has Spelt in it which is a wholegrain porridge so better for when they're a little older I guess, and the third is multigrain, again for when they're older. I dont know how available it is for you where you are, but I can always send you some if you cant get any where you are?

Thnks, so it's similar to the Milupa baby rice. It's also gluten free, it's only fat free milk with rice powder & some vitamins in a carton box. I dont like stuff stored in tins, & here Nestle products r the norm but I dont like them xx
