I think everyone has a point
I have a very, very unusual (only ever heard of 2 other people with it ant them I found through googling it) name but spelled phonically although this confuses people from both side
1) people assume its not phonic so spell it wrong (spelling often come out spanish-y)
or
2) assume its not phonic and pronounce it wrong lol (elongating sounds and switching syllables)
however I would hate to be Rachael Louise as there was 7 in my class (creative parents lol)
however as I said I do struggle with Irish names despite my family all being Irish as we all have phonic names
the worst is sean bean - your either sea-n bee-n or shawn born lol you cant have both
if I have a daughter I have an Irish name picked which is only one syllable different to one listed here but it will be spelled phonic (my son also goes to school with a Neve - spelled neve but even knowing I do still thing nee-mah when I see the non phonic spelling)
it maybe a north vs south thing but are there no phonic names you like such as Dara, Rory or Neve (sorry im better with boys names than girls)
