Hey all, I am having my 3rd MC only last time it was vanishing twin, my first was 12 years ago and was very quick I started spotting went for a scan and discovered baby had stopped growing at 6 weeks, I mc that day but conceived straight after.

I started bleeding last Sunday scan yesterday showed a very small baby (6 weeks, I should be 8 or 9 ) so I am sure it is like my first mc all over again except it is slower this time

If I am going to MC I hope it is quicker than it seems to be so I can TCC again quickly and wondering if my body is taking its time and they recommend a DNC will it impact my chances of getting pregnant quickly again

I am back in next Friday for a repeat scan to see if baby has grown

I'm sorry you're going through this.

I was worried about having a d&c because I thought it would hinder my chances of getting pregnant sooner and I really wanted to try right away. Well, here I am almost 3 months later and had more "product" pass. I'm pretty sure it was the last of it, as my hcg was basically negative. But going the natural miscarriage route for me made the process much more drawn out than it needed to be. I mean, the miscarriage was bad enough, but the recovery has been just awful. I was a but further along than you are, so it would probably be different for you. But for me, if I could go back I probably would get the d&c. Most women I know said it was quick and painless and recovery was quick. But of course there can always be complications. I think after a d&c they recommend waiting at least one cycle, and there is also risk of scarring, though I'm not sure of the statistics.

Anyway, all that to say, you have to do what I'd best for you. There are pros and cons to each . I hope your recovery is quick and you can get back to TTC

I've had two natural miscarriages one at 8 weeks and one at 19 weeks. The 8 week one I retained product which my body got rid of next time I tried to ovulate which freaked me out. It then took me a year to conceive my daughter. As for the 19 week one, I'm still bleeding now 2 weeks on and I'd like it to stop so I can try again.

I'm not aware of any studies comparing outcomes of the two methods but both will have pros and cons. Personally I would always prefer to wait it out naturally if there are no signs of infection, but its a highly personal decision.

If there is no change after your next scan and you want to get things happening naturally you may want to consider speaking to a naturopath.
I found a warm bath with lavender and clary sage, having a good cry and then verbally acknowledging that my body did a good job holding on to the baby but it was time to let go, and removing any blame I subconsciously placed on myself worked and had my mc over within 2-3 hours.

mummy2o I am so sorry 19 weeks that is just awful did they say you would bleed for that long I hope it ends soon for you

NDH I think I will look in to that after my scan, I keep expecting it to start for the bleeding to get heavier, I am nursing my son and keep expecting while I am nursing for it to get heavier and nope mostly when I wipe very little hitting my pad

I feel a little better in myself today still not hopeful bit confused as to why it has not started yet

Its been a long confusing road this last time they told me to expect MC around thanksgiving since my HCG dropped well after the holiday I took a test and it was Way darker and my numbers did increase
My HCG after that was really slowly going up so they suspected Ectopic but couldn't verify via US!!
I refused to terminate w the shot and my numbers started dropping around Xmas eve I finally got a negative test yesterday but still haven't started bleeding so idk what's what anymore!!

So sorry for all your losses it's the worse!!

I had spotting when I was 5wks almost like a period but my numbers where still climbing this also happened last time in July w that MC!! IDK why I get the spotting and numbers go up 2X then drop!! Only this time they went back up after the drop!

Nothing was ever seen in US so I doubt that will help also my HCG made it to 577 that's the highest I've gotten w the early losses! So confused at this point ... I'm sure my hormones are just outta wack!!
