Ladies, I've read that using some form of belly wrap after a c section offers great support and aids in faster healing. There are so many out there..,, which did you use and would you recommend it?
The hospital gave me one which was amazing, and when I was feeling better and able to do things around the house I switched from that to my Belly Bandit. It was great for support and it helped flatten my stomach which was also nice.
My hospital didn't.provide one and I didn't use one. I had spd and spoke to my physio about using the belt I'd been wearing after and she advised against it for me. She said that your own muscles will work quicker and better if you don't and sometimes it can be easy to do too much as your tummy healing will give u a warming when you've overdone it and you might not realise with a wrap on. Just something to bear in mind.
Our hospital does not provide them but I bought a dual closure corset from Bellefit. My doctor recommended that I wait two weeks PP to wear it as the pressure on the scar could do more harm than good in the beginning. Today is the first day I have it on and I feel great. I am going to wear it 24/7 for a few weeks then reduce it to daytime hours until all of the bloating goes away. Once I have the all clear to exercise again I will remove the corset and begin the process of strengthening the muscles.
