White stuff on nipple???

Hi ladies

I've noticed the last few days in the shower that I seem to have a little bit of white stuff around my nipples (sorry tmi). Not on the nipple, but where the nipple meets the areola. I'm only 10 weeks. Is this normal? Very odd!

Hi Lou

I am similar stage to you and I have the white flaky discharge on my nipples too. I read that this is normal and its the beginnings of the breasts getting ready for milk production, so we just have to make sure we keep the area clean. It will get more pronounced later on, but at the moment it's only a very small discharge, so is barely noticeable.

the white stuff is secreated by the glands on the aereola it helps keep soft and lubricated its nothing to worry about and will lessen as pregnancy goes on.

Thanks ladies. It's just so odd isn't it. You know pregnancy will change a few things, but nothing really prepares you for all the odd stuff! xx

yeah its normal hun, i have white patches on my actual nipples lol, and then bumps all round them had them since about 6 weeks and still got them xx

I'm so glad I found this thread - the end of my nipples have had like white on them for a few weeks, firsly I thought it was dry skin from chafing as since I've become pregnant my nipples are sooo sore and erect all the time, but no matter how much I moistuerised it never goes.

Great to know that it's normal - like Lou B said - you're aware of all the 'big' stuff that happens, but the smaller stuff that makes you wonder you can never find out about
