Whitening Toothpaste / Pearl Drops -- harmful???

May be a daft question.. Not sure..

I know I shouldn't use peroxide to whiten teeth when pregnant.... But is using a whitening toothpaste like Pearl Drops ok?

It doesn't say on the box either way

Does anyone know?

I never swallow the toothpaste and I always rinse and spit

Was at dentist today and this is what they told me: Since you don't swallow it the whitening should be safe. Not all whitening toothpaste has peroxide in it. Its abrasive and that is what removes the stains.

They didn't seem worried about the peroxide but I don't feel comfortable using it.

Not a problem. It was something I didn't know either and I never brought it up to my midwife. Good thing I had my teeth cleaned today

I'm using a whitening toothpaste but it's just a colgate one... I've read on-line that whitening toothpaste is fine but to avoid bleaching your teeth x
