A little about my background: I conceived my first two children naturally with no complications at all. After that, my cycles have been really weird and I've ended up with 3 losses this year. All of my tests have come back normal and the last thing my doctor wanted to check was to see if I was ovulating too late in my cycle (I know I conceived my 2nd loss on CD26). So I went in yesterday for an ultrasound on CD14 to check ovulation. My dr was on call at the hospital but the lady doing the ultrasound said it doesn't look like I'm going to ovulate for at least a week :(

Anyways - my doctor said if I'm ovulating too late then he can prescribe me Clomid to make me ovulate on time but he's hesitant to because he doesn't want me to have triplets. He said if you already ovulate on your own, Clomid will make your chances for multiples skyrocket.

So how many of you conceived Clomid multiples? If so, do you mind sharing your story? I really want to try the Clomid because I just want to try SOMETHING different to hopefully prevent a loss.

I ovulated on my own and was put on Letrozole for recurrent MC. The second cycle of 2.5mg I conceived the twins. The FS told me the chance of multiples was so small not to worry about it when I asked. We're not doing the drugs again this time.

I ovulated on my own but only had one tube. I conceived my dd on clomid and my twins naturally.

Based on my charts, opks and consistent cycles, I'm sure I was ovulating. However, my progesterone was low, so my doc said it was probably "weak ovulation" meaning it wasn't a quality egg being released. First round of clomid at 50 mg my progesterone went from 6.4 to 10.1 (they like to see 15 or above for medicated cycles). So, cycle 2 I was bumped up to 100mg. Progesterone was 10.1 again...and I conceived twins.

I'm wondering why your doc is so worried about you Oing late? I O'd between cd15 and cd21 usually. If you are Oing, then it shouldn't matter...you can still conceive. Has he checked your progesterone at 7dpo? That would be a better indicator of healthy ovulation than what day you O.

Sorry, I hope you don't mind me piping up in here. Chelsea, your doctor seems to be taking a rather unusual approach to your losses. Have you read up on the subject of recurrent miscarriages? (That is three or more consecutive losses)
Usually, they start with testing for clotting disorders and hormone levels on day 3 and 7dpo. Have you had any testing at all?

Mine also recommended drugs for RMC. He did do the testing for clotting/ auto immune as well.

Yes, I've had just about every test under the sun done. 19 tubes of blood drawn! I have an appt Nov 8th to discuss everything and the Clomid. I'm anxious to see what he has to say.

(And all my tests were normal besides my ultrasound to measure follicle growth)

Chelsea, I'm sorry to hear (read) that. I hope your doctor has a good and effective plan in store for you :hugs:

If follicle growth is the problem then clomid may work! Good luck!
