Why apricot puree was sour?

I got few apricots to make DS apricot puree for the first time, and it was sour.

TBH I didnt taste it before feeding it to him, I just realized that DS was making funny faces as if it is sour. I tasted it and it was indeed sour. Not very, it was a mix of sour and sweet, but definitely sour for someone like DS' age.

What can I do to sweeten it? could it be that the ones I bought were sour? I got them dark orange and assumed they were ok, but they aren't! I just dont want to throw the 3 left pots in my freezer!
