6 days ago today i gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, vaginally. I'm feeling pretty good and slowly healing. Stretch marks left behind are itching like crazy, def more then before..go figure. I'm noticing my belly going down, although not entirely yet. But I'm concerned about my belly button because it hasn't gone down yet. It is still protruding ...WHY?? It still looks dark and it feels tender to the touch. Anyone have any advice for me or care to share similar exp's.

TIA

Iim sorry, blonde moment alert, by protruding do u mean 'outie'? 4 weeks on i still have a outie, a flabby belly and the dark line too, persevere and im sure soon enough u will be almost back to your pre pregnancy self x

Mine popped back in at about 2 weeks post partum. :)

Yes I meant "outie"..sorry. I too have some flabby skin minus the belatedness and I still have the brown line too..sort of fading now tho.

Mines still pretty dark, and my belly button is still proper outie. Feel like its never gonna be back to how it used to be lol. Ill be sure to remind my little boy of this and everything else I went through when hes older. Well worth it though x

do you have any pain in your belly button? Have you been checked by the doctor to see if your abdominal muscles have come back together? Most women after they have babies, they do come back together but some have a condition know as rectus diastasis. I have this and something associated with this is an umbilical hernia. Typically if your belly button protrudes when you are pregnant, then it has herniated. You should get it checked out by the doctor. Don't worry if you do have rectus diastasis as there are core building exercises you can do to get them to come in, and if you do have a hernia it is probably only minor (if you're not having any abdominal pain) and this can be managed by strengthen your core to support it.

You may not have these things at all, but from my experience, I wished I'd know this sooner than 9 months postpartum
