Will maternity allowance automatically stop once the 39weeks are up?

I'm coming to the end of my maternity pay and about to take the unpaid three months. So will my mat allowance stop once this is up or will they expect me to inform them. If so anyone know who exactly I contact. Don't fancy paying money back if it rolls over lol
