Well when i had Ewan everyone said 'oh that will be easy breast fed babies dont get wind.. yeh right my arse!

Ewan was always full of wind and it looks like Robyn is too.
I have quite a fast flow:blush: which makes her cough but she gulps sooo much air too, during the day isnt a problem as she seems to bring it up really easily but at night i can't get the wind out of her.
So if i put her down 5 mins later she is crying with wind or she brings up her feed, she is quite uncomfortable as i can hear her straining (shes not constipated) and i am using infacol, and have also started using gripe water at half a dose as it says not before one month old. It seems to help.

We have her cot raised at one end but you can hear her squeaking away with wind poor girly.

Poppy has always been exactly the same, gulping down air and very windy with it. Infacol has helped us though, I still give it to her at night.

All newborns are gassy. it is just their little systems getting used to working. I hated that with Brenn as was soo happy when it stopped being such a problem.

yea we were told breastfed babies were better too!

Mill's had wind too but infacol seemed to help her quite a bit x

I think its funny that people claim BF babies dont get wind, or relfux, or colic etc etc... When they really do!

I hope your LO feels better soon! I know it didnt last long for us. I tried infacol but I found it made her worse and got her constipated... But thats just us!

haha its true, leylas been exclusively breastfed and she has all three!!

hope robyn feels better soon, i have found that the vibraty chair really helps leyla get her wind up :)

x

Thats exactly what Im going through. I know she has wind... shes all squirmy.. but I cant get it up. She does monstrous farts and explosive poos. I feel like Im doing something wrong and Ive got no one around to show me what to do!

Wind/Colic.... real pain in the arse at the mo. Halle is constantly windy/colicky.... and a real struggle for both her and i- i just hope it eases off at 10-12 weeks!!! (im praying!!!:cry::cry: )

the midwives in the hospital when i had Fred said you will never need to wind him BF babies dont get wind - its bollocks!!!!!

its horrid when you cant get a burp out! it does get easier in time tho, he sometimes stays latched on and lets one out the corner of his mouth now - so funny and such a blokey thing to do!!!

hope it gets better for you stick with it xxxx

Sam could never bring his trapped wind up for the first month or so, but then he seemed to get the knack overnight. He can still fart for England though. Swear I've seen him lift off the bed with it!

Yep, I have mega fast flow and Carmen ulps loads of air. I have found that it takes 10-15mins to get the wind up at night...so I stand there swaying to and fro rubing her back for 15 minutes at 4am to get the wind up otherwise, like you it's either crying or throwing up the feed. Sounds odd but I find that her wind is worse when I've eaten anything with onion in it the night before....

Amelie used to be like that but now she's older and bigger i never have to burp her. Usually after her feed I sit her up and on the way up she does a burp by herself with no back rubbing or patting by me. Remember babies get wind by crying or sucking a dummy, not just feeding.
